Benefits

What benefits do communities receive from their RC&D?

Numerous benefits are derived through the RC&D's grassroots "Communities know what communities need" philosophy, and its close working relationship with other agencies and organizations.

  1. A local process to address rural development needs and issues.
  2. Multi-county cooperation focused on rural development needs.
  3. Increased access to state and federal programs.
  4. Ability to obtain and leverage funding through the RC&D's nonprofit status.
  5. Staff support to implement programs and projects.

This only highlights RC&D. The products of work toward recreation and tourism, economic development, education, and community can be seen in projects like Happy Jack Chalk Mine, the "Women in Ag" conference, and community buildings being established all over Nebraska.
