What is the Nebraska Loess Hills Resource Conservation & Development Council?
- The Nebraska Loess Hills RC&D Council is a locally led, non-profit grassroots organization that helps people in Dakota, Thurston, Cuming, Burt, Dodge and Washington counties protect and develop economic, natural and social resources to improve their area's economy, environment and quality of life.
- The Nebraska Loess Hills RC&D Council is governed by a local council which defines problems, set priorities and actively implements projects to benefit the community. Council members are Dakota, Thurston, Cuming, Burt, Dodge and Washington county community members--like farmers, ranchers, local officials, and business owners willing to volunteer their time and effort.
- RC&D Councils are a nation wide program administered by the Natural Resources Conservation Service(NRCS). Nebraska Loess Hills RC&D Council is a non-profit, tax exempt organization which can secure grants and receive individual tax deductible donations.
- The RC&D Council is basically people seeking solutions for local problems. It is action planned and agreed to by local residents and leaders.
